The Methuen Arms
"Beautifully elegant architecture and food to match"
Overview
A fine Georgian building of golden Bath stone, set in the lovely market town of Corsham. Full of period character, with all the flagstones, log fires and local prints you could wish for, it’s also buzzing with contemporary spirit, especially in the three AA Rosette dining room, where chef Leigh Evans is providing extremely competent, precise cuisine using the finest local produce. Look out for dishes like the chicken glazed hake, with confit chicken wings, artichoke risotto, and chicken crumb; or fillet of halibut, served with Brixham crab, coconut rice, and fish broth. The stylish bedrooms are extremely well designed and comfortable. It’s a great place to stay when exploring Bath and Somerset.
