Lacock Abbey, Fox Talbot Museum & Village
Overview
Lacock Abbey is the former home of William Henry Fox Talbot, who invented the photographic negative process. The oldest negative in existence is of a photograph of Lacock Abbey. As well as the museum there are botanic gardens and greenhouse and a well-preserved country village. The Abbey has also been used as a film location, and can be seen in several Harry Potter films, Pride and Prejudice, Cranford, The Other Boleyn Girl, Downton Abbey, Wolf Hall and Wolfman.
