Overview
A local landmark, the glamorous late-Victorian Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa has fabulous views across St Aubin's Bay to the front and the bustling streets of St Helier to the rear. Just over the road from the beach, its elegant Tassili restaurant, is a moodily luxurious space that comes into its own in the evenings. Service is excellent, and you can expect high-level French technique from Nicolas Valmagna, taking inspiration from the island’s superb produce and inventive ideas from farther afield in a thrilling culinary exploration of some of the best ingredients Europe has to offer in multi-course tasting menus. Fresh from the island’s coastline comes Jersey blue lobster matched with Scottish girolles and butternut squash, then, staying with the ocean theme, wild turbot in saffron risotto with sea vegetables, mussels, cockle foam and Exmoor caviar – a real taste of the sea.
