Overview
Constructed in the 1730s, and remodelled around 1810, 16 New Street is probably the finest remaining Georgian townhouse in St. Helier, and represents a wonderful example of the elegant architectural styles and fashions of Regency Jersey. The house was saved from demolition by an independent trust, and gifted to National Trust for Jersey in 2003. After a million pound bequest by Mrs Mollie Houston in 2004, the house was completely renovated and opened to the public in 2011.
