Henrock
"Understated design and outstanding cooking by Lake Windermere."
Overview
Set within Linthwaite House Hotel with its glorious views overlooking Lake Windermere, Henrock is overseen by none other than top chef Simon Rogan and takes its name from a rocky outcrop perched above the lake, which can be seen from the restaurant. Eight acres of grounds and woodland give guests a chance to work up an appetite. Much of the produce is from Rogan’s farm and a “farm-to-fork” ethos delivers outstanding dishes with clear global influences, among them Cornish monkfish with magnolia, spring onion, lovage, turnip and katsuobushi sauce, then Gaythorne Hall Farm lop-eared pork matched with black garlic sabayon, grilled greens and umeboshi.

About the area
Cumbria's rugged yet beautiful landscape is best known for the Lake District National Park that sits within its boundaries. It’s famous for Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, and Derwent Water, ‘Queen of the English Lakes', but other lesser-known areas in the south, such as the Lune Valley and the coastal towns, are secret gems of wide cobbled streets and rolling hills
