"Contemporary Indian cooking in stylish setting."
Overview
Meaning ‘Earth or Mother Earth’ in ancient Sanskrit, Prithvi is a refined and intimate neighbourhood restaurant with decadent interiors and private dining options next to the upstairs bar. Classic French techniques underpin Thomas Law’s innovative modern Indian cooking and a well considered wine list focuses on bottles that complement the delicate spices. There's a great cocktail offering too. Chalk stream trout opens the show, cleverly pointed up by curry beurre blanc, Avruga caviar and pickled cucumber, then main-course venison brings tender and pink roast loin with smoked beetroot purée, pickled blackberry, rich curry sauce, biryani-style rice and a light doughnut ‘keema’ filled with venison mince.
