Everyman Theatre Cheltenham

Recommended by Visit England Logo
Overview
The Everyman Theatre was opened in 1891 by Lily Langtry, probably the most famous English actress of her generation. Over the years the theatre has put on all kinds of productions, and continues to do so. A recent (2011) renovation has returned the Victorian auditorium to its original splendour, and there is also a studio space which offers more innovative theatre. The Everyman also works with local community groups and charities, using theatre as therapy.
Location
Regent Street, CHELTENHAM, GL50 1HQ
About the area
Gloucestershire is home to a variety of landscapes, including the Cotswolds, a region of gentle hills, valleys and gem-like villages that roll through the county. To their west is the Severn Plain, watered by Britain’s longest river and characterised by orchards and farms marked out by hedgerows that blaze with mayflower in the spring; beyond the Severn are the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley.
