Overview
If you fancy finding out how the likes of actors Sir Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, to name but a few, came to get the performing bug, then book a show at the ADC. This pretty, white- and blue-washed period building, a few minutes’ walk from the city centre, has hosted the university’s Amateur Dramatic Club (ADC) since the late 1800s. The club itself was formed in 1855. Shows are a superb mix of comedy sketches, stand-up and satire
