Overview
The Peak District is reckoned to be one of the best places in the country to learn to paraglide and hang-glide, with its unpredictable weather producing highly skilled and knowledgeable pilots. The Derbyshire Flying Centre takes you through the BHPA qualifications and open up new horizons for you to share the ability to fly as free as a bird. It is open year round for all courses and lessons. The DFC was established in 1987, and holds the BHPA Merit Award.

The natural features of this central English county range from the modest heights of the Peak District National Park, where Kinder Scout stands at 2,088 ft (636 m), to the depths of its remarkable underground caverns, floodlit to reveal exquisite Blue John stone. Walkers and cyclists will enjoy the High Peak Trail which extends from the Derwent Valley to the limestone plateau near Buxton, and for many, the spectacular scenery is what draws them to the area.
