Overview
Mountfitchet Castle is a Norman motte and bailey castle and village reconstructed as it was in medieval England of 1066, on its original historic site. A vivid illustration of village life, complete with houses, church, siege tower, siege weapons, and many types of animals roaming freely. Animated wax figures in all the buildings give historical information to visitors. Adjacent to the castle is the House on the Hill Toy Museum, a nostalgic trip through childhood memories.
