Benington Lordship Gardens
Overview
Benington Lordship Gardens cover seven acres surrounding a fine Georgian manor house and the remains of a Norman keep. Also in the gardens are a Victorian folly, a kitchen garden, sculptures, a carp pond and rose garden. Plenty of wildlife is attracted to the gardens and snowdrops are a particular delight in February and March.

About the area
As Hertfordshire is so close to London, many of its towns have become commuter havens. St Albans, less than 19 miles (30km) from the capital, has retained its distinctive character, along with many historic remains.
