Overview
The tall, 240ft Gothic spire of Lancaster’s Catholic cathedral has been a landmark in the city since its construction in the mid-19th century to a design by Edward Paley. Giles Gilbert Scott undertook some remodelling of the interior in 1909, including the addition of black and white marble floor tiles. The cathedral, elevated to this status in 1924, is dedicated to St Peter.
