"Defending Jersey from a rocky islet for centuries"
Overview
Once an ancient hermitage, Elizabeth Castle was built in the late 16th century as a key strategic location for the English army to defend the Island. Surrounded by the sea twice a day, you can walk out to the castle at low tide or take a ferry across the bay at high tide. Join the Master Gunner, and other living history characters, on the Parade Ground for the daily firing of the Black Powder cannon.
