"An impressively well-managed team, keen to serve and naturally sociable."
Overview
Langdale Chase enjoys one of the Lake District’s most memorable settings, standing in mature grounds that sweep down to the shores of Windermere. This restored Victorian lakeside house combines original character with a polished, contemporary country-house style, from its stained glass, carved oak and fireside lounges to modern artwork, stylish bedrooms and beautiful terraces. Bedrooms are also luxurious with thoughtful touches including local snacks and reading material and generous welcome details. Most rooms make the most of the lake and fell views, while bathrooms offer a high-quality finish, deep baths, huge showers and luxury amenities. Public areas are a real strength too, elegant and characterful lounges and a small cinema provide inviting spaces to relax in all weathers. Dining is centred on the bright restaurant overlooking the lake, where confident, flavoursome cooking continues to hold Two AA Rosettes. Outside, maturing gardens, lake access, terraces and availability of experiences such as boat trips help make Langdale Chase a refined and memorable Lake District retreat.

About the area
Cumbria's rugged yet beautiful landscape is best known for the Lake District National Park that sits within its boundaries. It’s famous for Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, and Derwent Water, ‘Queen of the English Lakes', but other lesser-known areas in the south, such as the Lune Valley and the coastal towns, are secret gems of wide cobbled streets and rolling hills.
