Set just outside St Andrews on the Fife coast, Rufflets Hotel is a long-established country house hotel surrounded by extensive private gardens and mature woodland. Originally built in 1924 for a Dundee jute baron, it is set in extensive gardens a few minutes' drive from the town centre. The property has evolved into a relaxed retreat while retaining its traditional character and sense of seclusion. Inside, the atmosphere is informal and welcoming, with comfortable lounges, open fires and a homely feel that reflects its country house roots. Public spaces favour ease and warmth over formality, creating a laid-back environment for guests to unwind. Bedrooms are individually styled, offering a mix of classic furnishings and modern comforts, many with garden views that reinforce the tranquil setting. They include the Gilroy Suite, The Orchard Suites(separate from the main building), and cozy double shepherd huts out in the grounds. Dining centres on seasonal, locally sourced produce served in a relaxed Brasserie setting, complemented by attentive, friendly service. Impressive conference and banqueting facilities are available in the adjacent Garden Suite.
