Overview
Founded in 1382, Winchester College is believed to be the oldest continuously running school in England. The College has greatly expanded over the years but the original buildings remain intact. Visitors can follow in the footsteps of John Keats, and see the College's many historic buildings, including the 14th-century gothic chapel with one of the earliest examples of a fan-vaulted roof constructed from wood rather than stone, the original scholars' dining room and the cloister containing memorials to former members of the College including one to Mallory the Mountaineer.
