Overview
Laxdale House is a traditional crofter’s cottage on the Borve Lodge Estate, offering a remote, tranquil getaway beside Laxdale Loch. Built in the 1900s for fishing, the stone cottage sleeps two and features a cosy, simple interior with wood-panelled walls and an open fire. The ground-floor double bedroom can be configured as a super king or two singles upon request at time of booking. The cottage does not currently benefit from broadband or Wi-Fi and is therefore ideal for a peaceful escape. Guests can enjoy fly fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout in the nearby lochs, or explore the surrounding mature woodland. Other local activities include photography, birdwatching, seasonal mountain biking, kayaking and surfing. Laxdale Cottage is open from March to November, allows one well-behaved pet and is smoke-free.
