Beeston Castle

Recommended by Visit England Logo
Overview
Known as the 'Castle of the Rock', Beeston Castle is at the top of an impressive crag which enjoys breathtaking views over eight counties, from the Pennines to the Welsh mountains. An exhibition details 4,000 years of Beeston Castle's history, from Bronze Age settlement to Iron Age hill fort. Legend tells of a vast treasure hidden here by King Richard II, but a treasure more easily found is the 40 acres of unspoiled woodland full of wildlife and trails to explore.
