Finch Foundry
Overview
Finch Foundry was, in the 19th century, a water-powered factory for making sickles, scythes, shovels and other hand tools. Although no longer in production, three waterwheels can still be seen driving huge hammers, shears, grindstones and other machinery, with daily working demonstrations. These demonstrations explain the key role the foundry played in the local community. Special Event: St Clement's Day (St Clement is the patron saint of blacksmiths) 17th November.
