Overview
Hampshire’s famous fly-fishing river runs right behind this early 19th-century free house on Stockbridge’s wide, picturesque high street. The wood-floored interior is laid out with interestingly styled tables and chairs under a beamed ceiling. Very much a dining pub, The Greyhound has two AA Rosettes, so expect high quality in dishes such as buffalo carpaccio; braised ox cheek; roasted venison, faggot and pan haggerty; monkfish bouillabaisse; and roasted squash, chickpea and coconut curry.

About the area
Hampshire’s varied landscape of hills and heaths, downlands and forests, valleys and coast are without rival in southern England. Hike across the chalk downland of the north Hampshire ‘highlands’, meander along peaceful paths through unspoilt river valleys of the Test, Itchen, Avon and Meon, or explore the lonely salt marshes and the beautiful medieval forest and heathland of the New Forest.
