"Outstanding cuisine in a charming country house hotel."
Overview
Set in Caistor Hall Hotel in 90 acres of countryside, Mark Poynton's destination restaurant is a real adventure. With bespoke furniture and design by Warings, the space has a funky contemporary look that sets the tone for some seriously sharp modern cooking. Mark draws on inspiration from his mentors Daniel Clifford and the late Paul Kitching, but most definitely leaves his own mark on dishes driven by the finest local produce. Cured mackerel is torched and served with local heritage tomatoes and sea herbs, followed by rabbit loin wrapped in Serrano ham and matched with a creamy garlic puree, broad beans and runner beans, all pointed up with a delicious rabbit jus.
