Home to the world's largest collection of shoes, Northampton Museum and Art Gallery displays shoes that have been in fashion through the ages, from Ferragamo to Vivienne Westwood. 'Life and Sole' tells the history of footwear, and other displays detail the history of Northampton, and British and Oriental ceramics and glass. There is a changing programme of exhibitions, including exhibits from the permanent art collection. Workshops for children and adults are run throughout the year.
