Overview
Whitchurch Silk Mill is the oldest working silk mill in the UK still in its original building. Its original water wheel, Victorian machinery and looms are in use daily, so visitors can explore traditional silk weaving and discover how silk is made into fabulous cloth. A gem of industrial heritage in beautiful, rural North Hampshire, the Mill is a Georgian water mill that weaves silk using 19th-century machinery. There are many hands-on exhibits with a children's trail to follow as well as a riverside café serving light lunches, and a gift shop.
