The Wildebeest
"Seasonality and traceability in peaceable surroundings."
Overview
Set in a village just far enough out of Norwich to enjoy tranquillity, The Wildebeest is a haven of refined eating and drinking. The interior is a feast in itself, rich with beams, aged floorboards and solid wood tables. The pub’s reputation for fine food has been built over many years, and continues today in the hands of chef-patron Daniel Smith. Settle on a bar stool for a pint of Adnams ale, or select a wine from the dozen sold by the glass while perusing the menu. The kitchen serves the freshest ingredients, bringing dishes together that embrace every season and using all that is great and good from Norfolk.

About the area
The North Norfolk Coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and probably the finest of its kind in Europe. Here you’ll find a string of quaint villages and small towns – Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and Cley next the Sea are 21st-century favourites, while Sheringham and Cromer are classic examples of a good old-fashioned seaside resort where grand Victorian hotels look out to sea.
